In Evington we have a strong history of developing environmental and horticultural projects.
Member organisations are signed up to the RHS In Your Neighbourhood Scheme. Our main community garden in Evington, run by GraceWorks, has been classed as an Outstanding project for the last 2 years and currently hold the Volunteer Project of the Year Award from Leicester City Council.
RHS In Your Neighbourhood Groups
We are working hard to set up raised beds and a polytunnel to grow flowers and plants that can brighten up our area.
Enstruct Training has been busy preparing the land for starter plots at Evington Hill Top so that we have growing space for more people in Evington for spring.
Get Growing
At Evington Hill Top and GraceWork's Community Garden we have various food growing projects that have been developed with Leicester City Council's Get Growing Project.
They have been teaching both adults and children how to grow food and during the last year have provided over 150kg of fresh fruit and vegetables to people who have been in need or shielding during the pandemic.
What we have learnt from the pandemic is that we are stronger together and that was why we formed Grow Together, to do more to transform our communities.
We will be posting information about how to get involved in 2021 once we are out of the current tier restrictions.
